Tan Sri Lee Kim Tiong @ Lee Kim Yew, the founder of Country Heights Holdings Berhad, was first appointed to the Board on 1 October 1986.

Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew has been the Executive Chairman of Country Heights Holdings Berhad since October 1, 2016 and has stepped down from the executive role on January 26th, 2023. On February 7, 2023, he has been appointed as the Group Advisor and Patron and take on the advisory role to Country Heights Holdings Berhad. As the Advisor to the Group, Tan Sri Lee will provide guidance to the group and ensure that his advice is properly documented, with a particular focus on the latest trends and leveraging his vast international network, especially in Asia, to help improve the company’s culture and branding.

Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew is an established innovative entrepreneur who has stamped his mark in many industries. He has over 30 years of vast experience in developing residential, industrial park, hotel and leisure, commercial and recreation projects. His strong business acumen and visionary leadership are the keys ingredients which led the Group’s successful completion of several highly acclaimed projects. Country Heights Damansara and Borneo Highlands Resort have won the “Highly Commended – Best Development Malaysia” and “Highly Commended – Best Golf Development Malaysia” awards respectively in the Asia Pacific Residential Property Awards in association with Bloomberg Television 2010. Country Heights Holdings Berhad was awarded “Best Brands Conglomerate Awards 2010-2011”.

His magnificent development by transforming the one of the World’s largest open cast tin mine into a flagship development such as Palace of the Golden Horses, Mines Wellness Hotel, Mines Waterfront Business Park, Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre (“MIECC”), Mines Wonderland and Mines Resort & Golf Club or better known as “Mines Resort City”. The Mines Resort City has earned the National Creativity & Innovation Award by the Malaysian Design Technology Centre in 2004.

In recognition of his immeasurable contribution to the property development and hospitality industry in Malaysia, Tan Sri Lee Kim Tiong @ Lee Kim Yew has been bestowed with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” in the 2008 Technology Business Review ASEAN Awards.

In view of his direct interest in Country Heights Holdings Berhad and substantial shareholdings in Country Heights Venture Sdn Bhd and Country Heights International Sdn Bhd, he is deemed interested in certain related party transactions of a revenue or trading nature which are necessary for the day-to-day operations of the Group.

Admiral Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Mohd Anwar Bin Hj. Mohd Nor (R)
Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman

Admiral Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Mohd Anwar Bin Mohd Nor (Rtd) served the Royal Malaysian Navy for 38.5 years, commanded six (6) ships, and also several shore bases. He rose to the rank of Admiral and took office as Chief of Navy in August 2003 and later became the first Naval Officer to assume the Chief of Defence Force post from April 2005 until 2007.

He was formerly the President of the Malaysian Hockey Federation and is currently the President of the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA)

He was chairman of the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) for 11 years and chairman of the National Defence University of Malaysia Board for 10 years.

Currently, he is one of the Pro Chancellors of the National Defence University of Malaysia. He also held the position of President of the Armed Forces Veteran for 6 years and was an Independent Chairman of Titijaya Land Berhad from 2014 to 2022.

Chuah Peng San
Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr. Chuah, a Barrister-at-Law, holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B Hons) degree from the University of Leeds, England and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons) degree, majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Management from University of Science Malaysia, Penang.

Having called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn, United Kingdom in 1991, he had a short chamber with a Queen’s Counsel in London specialising in commercial and corporate matters and later trained with a renowned solicitors firm, Phillips & Buck (now Eversheds) Cardiff, United Kingdom prior to returning to Malaysia.

He was admitted as an Advocates & Solicitors to the High Court of Malaya and later set up the legal firm known as Chuah, Halim & Co. in 1995.

He is a practising lawyer in the fields of commercial, conveyancing, land matters and civil litigations. He was a legal adviser of the Perlis Chinese Chamber of Commerce and had represented a subsidiary company of Sunway Group. He is currently on legal advisory works for a few established clients
At Country Heights Holdings Berhad, Mr. Chuah Peng San was appointed to the Board on 3 February 2023 as an Independent Non-Executive Director. He was appointed as the member of NRC on the same day, and later the member of ARMC on 3 April 2023.

Datuk Dr Haji Mazlan bin Ahmad
Independent Director

Datuk Dr Haji Mazlan bin Ahmad as an Independent Director, effective 26 February 2026. This strategic decision is anticipated to bolster the company’s governance framework, drawing on Dr. Mazlan’s extensive background in financial services and regulatory oversight.

At 57 years old, Dr. Mazlan brings over two decades of experience, having held significant roles at Bank Negara Malaysia. His expertise spans strategic planning, human resource management, and financial crime enforcement, making him a valuable addition to the CHHB board. He is also recognized for his contributions to Islamic Social Finance, particularly in enhancing transparency and governance.

In addition to his new role at CHHB, Dr. Mazlan is the Founder of Masyi Group and serves on the boards of various corporate entities. His appointment is in compliance with Paragraph 15.02 of MMLR, underscoring the company’s commitment to maintaining high governance standards.

Dr. Kenneth Ng Kien Ann
Independent Non-Executive Director

Dr. Kenneth Ng is an accomplished international business leader with over 25 years of experience in corporate finance, strategic investments, and large-scale infrastructure development across Asia and Europe. He has a distinguished track record in navigating complex regulatory environments and structuring cross-border transactions for multi-billion-dollar organizations.

 

Throughout his career, Dr. Ng has held several high-profile executive roles, including CFO & CIO of IKEA China, and Vice Chairman & CFO of the DAX-listed Evonik Industries in China. He also served as CFO and Senior VP of the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City—a flagship bilateral project backed by Temasek Holdings and the Guangdong Provincial Government. During his tenure with the CapitaLand Group (Shopping Mall) in China, he played a pivotal role in pioneering Chinese REIT structures and executing landmark Singapore IPOs.

 

Dedicated to community leadership, Dr. Ng serves on the Executive Committee of the Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia and is the President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Shah Alam. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Peking University and EU Business School, as well as an MBA and BBA from Western Michigan University.

 

Chuah Tian Pong
Non-Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr. Chuah Tian Pong is the Chief Operation Officer of Country Heights Holdings Berhad. He is a graduate of Architecture and obtained his BSc (Hons) Architecture in 1997 and Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture in 1999 from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom.

He has more than 25 years of working experience in both consultancy and property development companies handling residential and commercial projects including high-rise buildings. Mr. Chuah’s forte is in planning, design and value engineering.

Xiong Wei
Executive Director, Digital Technology

Mr. Xiong Wei holds a Communication Engineering degree from Hezhou University of China. He is a serial entrepreneur and investor in the internet finance industry and has rich experience in start-up enterprise strategic planning and investment operations.

He is also a pioneer in the blockchain and cloud computing industry and has both international and domestic work experience.

Mr. Xiong Wei is the chairman and founder of Hong Kong Al Life Investment Services Ltd. In 2008, he established Shenzhen Hengzhongxin Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd. In 2018, he was the second prize winner of China’s National Mobile Internet Innovation Competition.

Khavitha Devi A/P Pothuraju
Executive Director, Legal & Compliance

Ms. Khavitha was appointed to the Board on 25 March 2024 as an Executive Director of Legal & Compliance. In addition, she is also the Legal Executive at Country Heights Holdings Berhad. 

Ms. Khavitha holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B., Hons) degree from the University of London (External Program).

She began her legal career as a paralegal in 2017 and has since accumulated seven years of experience in the legal industry, dealing with Civil Litigations and Conveyancing. She also provides advisory services in areas including tort matters, estate matters, contracts and family matters. 

Since joining the CHHB team in 2023 as a Legal Executive, she has been extensively involved in matters of advisory across various departments such as Human Resources, Project & Development, Finance, and Public Relations & Communications. Her advisory role also extends to the Subsidiaries of CHHB.

Shafina Binti Syafei
Executive Director, PR & Communications

Ms. Shafina was appointed to the Board on 25 March 2024 as an Executive Director of PR & Communications.

Ms. Shafina earned her degree in Mass Communications, majoring in Public Relations, from the University of Technology MARA (UiTM), and has more than 25 years of experience in public relations and communications. 

Ms. Shafina currently serves as the Director of the Group Public Relations & Marketing Communications at Country Height Holdings Berhad, overseeing Public Relations, marketing communications, media engagement, branding, and promotional campaigns for the Group and its subsidiaries. She actively collaborates with various divisions, ensuring seamless integration of communication objectives for all subsidiaries, especially on new developments or projects. Shafina joined Country Height Holdings Berhad in 2014.

Ms. Shafina commenced her career in the year 1999 as a Public Relations consultant at Asia Public Relations Sdn. Bhd. There, she garnered extensive expertise in public relations, branding, and media strategy, working with clients such as the 1st World Halal Forum, Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Dutch Lady, among others. 

In 2006, Ms. Shafina transitioned to the SKALI Group, assuming the position of Head of Strategic Marketing and Communications. Her responsibilities included spearheading the communication team to implement various PR programmes for the ICT National Project. Subsequently, in 2010, she undertook the role of Head of Strategic Marketing and Communications at Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC), overseeing communication programs such as organizing the World Halal Research Summit and Halal Transformation Programme.
